Disability sport can play a key role in rehabilitation and recovery for someone who has suffered life-changing injuries. With our campaign "Don't Quit, Do It", we want to highlight the ways people can get involved and some of the inspiring journeys our clients have made. We're also encouraging people to share their stories with us via #DontQuitDoIt.
Sadly, it isn’t always the case that disabled people receive the chance to get involved in physical exercise. Access, provision and inclusion in sports for disabled people in the UK are often inconsistent, discouraging individuals from getting involved.
Disabled people should have the same opportunities as non-disabled people to be active. We know that physical activity improves the quality of life of people with disabilities considerably, developing independence, social integration and general wellbeing.
