Adaptive Fitness Fun for Upper Limb Amputees

Posted by LimbPowerAdmin on Thursday 2nd September 2021

LimbPower is excited about our new virtual Adaptive Fitness Fun sessions, running twice a week for young people with limb differences. These workout sessions are designed and presented by PT Liv, who was born with congenital upper limb difference.

Adaptive Fitness Fun will take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings as part of the #JoinTheMovement campaign by Sport England to keep England Active. Liv’s sessions will focus on fundamental movement skills, agility, balance, coordination and cardio for young people; adults can join in too!

Kiera Roche, Chief Executive Officer of LimbPower, says: “The mental and physical health of our children is paramount. These

sessions will help children to be active during the school holidays, improve their balance, motor skills and mental health and fitness.”

PT Liv will design each session differently, focusing on cardio and movement, coordination and balance. Liv explains: “These workouts will help children stay healthy and keep fit. I am passionate about making each session fun and accessible for all, so I look forward to seeing you each Tuesday and Thursday!”

Lower limb amputees can still access the Adaptive Fitness Fun sessions on LimbPower’s YouTube Channel created by Jack Eyers for LimbPower last year.
