LimbPower, with support from Starworks, Reach, Steps, healthcare professionals and families have produced a series of educational infographics to support children and families coming to terms with limb difference, limb absence and limb loss. Case Study - Thomas

Thomas is sports-mad and loves spending time with his friends. At just ten years old this chatty and quietly confident boy has already had to make some difficult decisions about his future. A congenital condition meant that Thomas was born with his left leg bent at 90 degrees which he was unable to straighten.

Violet Case Study

At just eight years old, Violet has mastered several skills including playing sport, gardening and cooking. Like many children her age, she enjoys sleepovers and being with her friends. Yet what stands out about Violet is her determined and charismatic character, propelling herself to try new things and motivating those around her.

Oscar - Case Study

Oscar is a young child with a big personality who spends much of his time fearlessly climbing and jumping! This bubbly five-year-old kept everyone entertained at a recent LimbPower get together.

Joe - Case Study

Fifteen-year-old Joe is passionate about drumming, badminton and gaming. His determination has already seen him accomplish many things and he is now concentrating on his ambitions to work in game design, graphic design or engineering.

Kyra - Case Study

At nine years old, Kyra loves spending time with her friends and especially enjoys scary rides at funfairs. Her ability to confidently describe her limb difference and detail the extensive surgeries she has had so far is remarkable.

Ollie is a twelve-year-old boy with infectious energy. He loves being around people and taking part in a wide variety of sports. He’s also reflective and passionate about communicating to schools the best ways they can help children with limb difference.

Dakota - Case Study

Dakota is a twelve-year-old boy with the most captivating character and describes his hobbies as eating, rugby and playing on his phone. On a recent flying experience day, he took the controls and was told he was a natural. His next project is to learn to play the drums.
