Double Amputee David Williamson Will Push Himself 26 Miles To Raise Funds LimbPower

Posted by LimbPowerAdmin on Friday 29th July 2016

37 year-old David Williamson first came into contact with LimbPower in 2009 when he took part in the Amputee Games, now the LimbPower Games. David has since gone on to take on some incredible challenges, all for charity. In April this year David pushed himself in his wheelchair around the grounds at Lakeside near Hilsea for 24 hours to raise funds for Willow Scotney Williams.

David has completed three Great South Runs, raising funds for a National cancer charity as well as Willow. Today he agreed to join the LimbPower Manic MaraFun to help raise invaluable funds for a charity which helped him engage with sport. David said “The whole point is to push myself to the limit as much as I can to inspire other people, both able-bodied and with a disability to do the same."

Kiera Roche, LimbPower’s CEO said, “David is an incredible athlete and person. He has taken part in some grueling events all to raise funds to help a little girl with her rehabilitation needs and now he wants to encourage other people with limb impairments to get active. This is going to be a tough challenge, but David can do this. You can sponsor David using his justgiving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/David-Williamson37
